Description
This is a well-maintained Epic from back in the day. More or less stock, but the derailleur hanger is brand new (and I'll throw in a spare), and the rear derailleur is upgraded to XTR. Pedals are generic flats. Brand new Maxxis tires (Minion DHF EXO front, Aggressor EXO rear), and it's set up for tubeless, with butyl tubes in it for sale.
This was one of the higher-end full-sus bikes in 2004 -- not top of the line, but close. It has been well-maintained and still has thousands of miles and hundreds of stories left in her. The Brain rear suspension locks out bob from pedaling and only activates when you hit a real bump.
Definitely some signs of wear. The Bontrager saddle has some dry cracks and there are paint chips and scratches and scrapes all over. As far as I know, all seals in shocks are good.
She's a sturdy reliable thing. Bike tech has moved on for sure, but this is still a trail-worthy whip. Make me an offer.
