When conditions get tough, the tough go 'cross! GT's CX1 crosser boasts a sweet aluminum frame with an Easton carbon fork. Together they make for a bike that is stiff and responsive, yet forgiving; it's a paradox, like cross racing itself. Its geometry is perfect for cross, where you're sprinting out of corners, negotiating tight courses and descending steep grades. Through and through, the CX1 is core cross with 46/38 TruVativ cranks, with SRAM gearing and tough Easton wheels with Maxxis knobbies that are nice and wide. Notice the cable routing? It's for easy portaging and the canti brakes give you good mud clearance. The CX1 affords you the opportunity to dominate at every race this side of Belgium without breaking the bank.
