Single-speed 'cross is perfect for the rider who wants to put all their effort into going all out, not worrying about their bike's setup. The Crux E5 SS from Specialized features a premium aluminum frame for a sprint that will carry you past the hole shot, and a carbon fork that carves up the technical corners. And this bike is loaded with 'cross-friendly features, like an eccentric bottom bracket for easy setup, gobs of tire clearance for when the mud starts to fly, and internal cable routing for a clean looking race machine. Barriers and run-ups are no rider's friends, but the shaped top tube of the Crux makes it easy and comfortable to shoulder the bike and run. A SRAM crank keeps things moving while a pair of single-speed-specific Tektro Hylex hydraulic disc brakes slows it all down. 2Bliss-ready Specialized tires and a pair of light and slick Roval wheels provide cat-like traction on the worst course the local 'cross circuit can find.
