About this bike
Jamis takes on the enduro world with their Defcon 1. This 160mm-travel machine takes on all terrain with grace thanks to its MP4 suspension. It travels on a single primary pivot, placed to minimize braking influences and reduce pedal kickback and unwanted movement due to chain tension. That's nerd speak for "stays plush and active when you stomp on the pedals." Your bearings are US-made Enduro Max that are 10mm wide for increased lateral and torsional stiffness, and increased shock durability and performance. Again, nerd speak for "holds your line through chunder over and over again." The geometry is exactly what you'd expect from a high end ripper: quick, agile and confident. Add a Fox 36 up front, a Float X out back and XT gearing, ad you've got an advanced weapon for the battlefield of new-school techy trails. If that didn't convince you, the DH-bred Saint brakes and the LEV dropper post should.
