Overview
About this bike
How do you take a race-ready cross-country machine and make it into the bike you ride everyday? Kona shows us how with their Big Kahuna, a svelte, race-ready aluminum hardtail with plus-sized 27.5 x 2.8-inch Schwalbes to grab handfuls of traction and float over gnarly terrain. These meaty tires raise the fun factor along with the bike’s versatility, enhanced by a 100mm RockShox Recon RL fork that keeps the front end tracking and your excitement high. That all-important rubber is well-supported by a pair of 40mm-wide WTB Scraper rims which are light enough to make their formidable strength seem impossible. All this rolling stock gets moving thanks to drivetrain components from Shimano and RaceFace, married in a 2x10-speed system with go-anywhere range. And, Shimano’s hydraulic disc brakes give you braking abilities that’ll make you contemplate equipping the bike with a seatbelt. Defy traditional bike boundaries and see what you can do on a Big Kahuna.
