Remember those trails that you always thought were just a little too rocky, too steep, too technical, and too gnarly? Better think again. Niner’s RIP 9 RDO has what you need to crush these old foes. The strength-optimized RDO compacted carbon frame features a full-carbon rear triangle, as well as carbon rockers and lower link, and maintains scary low weight while standing up to abuse day after day. Niner’s Constantly Varying Arc (CVA) design guides your rear wheel through 125mm of efficient travel, creating a trail bike that handily tames rugged trails. It likes a 120-140mm-travel fork, and has an offset rear triangle and ISCG 05 tabs so you can lock it down with a chainguide or load it up with a considerable spread of gears that let you climb and descend anything you can see. The RIP 9 RDO 2-Star is a quiver-killing machine that’s ready for the abuse of all your favorite trials. A 140mm-travel Fox 34 Float fork dutifully takes a hearty serving of baby heads, roots, and drops. Maxxis Ardent rubber wraps around a set of 29-inch Niner alloy wheels to roll fast and hook up tight. The SRAM GX 1 x 11-speed drivetrain offers a wide gear range and precise shifting, so you can quickly nab the gear you need with the flick of a finger. SRAM has you covered on the deceleration front, as well, providing its DB5 brakes with the power to lock up your tires and the modulation to hold your line. A KS dropper post lets you pedal efficiently uphill then drops like it’s hot so you can scorch the descent. And, Niner’s cockpit components look good and perform better, ensuring you have the control and comfort you need.
