Remember those trails that you always thought were just a little too rocky, too steep, too technical, and too gnarly? Better think again. Niner’s RIP 9 RDO has what you need to crush these old foes. The strength-optimized RDO compacted carbon frame features a full-carbon rear triangle, as well as carbon rockers and lower link, and maintains scary low weight while standing up to abuse day after day. Niner’s Constantly Varying Arc (CVA) design guides your rear wheel through 125mm of efficient travel, creating a trail bike that handily tames rugged trails. It likes a 120-140mm-travel fork, and has an offset rear triangle and ISCG 05 tabs so you can lock it down with a chainguide or load it up with a considerable spread of gears that let you climb and descend anything you can see. Can we see the future? No. Can we pretty confidently prognosticate that you will come away from every ride on your RIP 9 RDO 4-Star with a silly grin on your face? Definitely. A RockShox Pike RC fork has the moxy to soak up 140mm of travel at a time keeping you railing your line despite the trail’s attempts to shake you off. The Maxxis Ardent tires stay planted where you place them, rolling fast on Niner’s durable, lightweight Carbon TR wheels.SRAM’s X01 1 x 11-speed drivetrain is seemingly weightless, and efficiently delivers power from your legs to the rear wheel with a wide gear range. SRAM’s Guide RSC brakes let you dial in the way your brakes engage with several dimensions of adjustability, so you can find the sweet spot between lock up and maximum traction at the tip of your finger. And, the Guide levers are mounted to a lightweight, vibration-damping Niner RDO carbon handlebar. A RockShox Reverb dropper post lets you adjust your saddle height on the fly so you can optimize your riding position for gravity-defying climbs and gravity-embracing descents. And, don’t worry; it’s common for riders to giggle uncontrollably while riding the RIP 9 RDO 4-Star, and for some time afterward.
