Remember those trails that you always thought were just a little too rocky, too steep, too technical, and too gnarly? Better think again. Niner’s RIP 9 RDO has what you need to crush these old foes. The strength-optimized RDO compacted carbon frame features a full-carbon rear triangle, as well as carbon rockers and lower link, and maintains scary low weight while standing up to abuse day after day. Niner’s Constantly Varying Arc (CVA) design guides your rear wheel through 125mm of efficient travel, creating a trail bike that handily tames rugged trails. It likes a 120-140mm-travel fork, and has an offset rear triangle and ISCG 05 tabs so you can lock it down with a chainguide or load it up with a considerable spread of gears that let you climb and descend anything you can see. The 5-Star build is Niner’s ode to trail riding, a serenade for sketchy lines, rock-strewn dirt gutters, and remote natural playgrounds. The Fox 36 Float Factory fork stoically offers 140mm of highly-adjustable travel, so you’re emitting barbaric yawps as you float through techy chunder. Niner’s 29-inch Carbon TR wheels keep you rolling fast, and a pair of Maxxis Ardent tires bite through loose corners. Shimano’s 2 x 11-speed XTR drivetrain rapidly answers your gearing needs, offering a tremendous range while upholding the XTR reputation of incredible low weight and flawless functionality. XTR disc brakes modulate effortlessly between “imperceptible” and “full lock-up” to ensure you’re in full control. Niner outfitted the cockpit with their own carbon components and a RockShox Reverb dropper post that lets climb and descend at the outer limits of your abilities.
