Let's say that you ride XC part of the time, hit hard, gnarly trails here and there and even dabble a little in all-mountain-type stuff with a race or two thrown in the mix as well. Isn't that all of us? Santa Cruz thought so, so they came up with the Nickel. It's an affordable, durable, versatile do-it-all bike that loves to climb and is a surefooted descender. Thanks to its APP suspension, the bike feels like it has more travel, it climbs like a 5-inch bike, but descends like a 6-inch bike. APP combines Santa Cruz's proven single pivot tech with the pedaling characteristics of VPP in a simple, durable, lightweight package. Key frame details include a tapered head tube, oversize pivots and slack yet pedal-happy geometry. Plus, nothing's left to chance on the build either: DT Swiss wheels, 130mm Float fork, full XT group, Thomson post and an Easton carbon bar.
