Trek took the excellent weight, efficiency and ride of the Fuel EX, hit overdrive, and bumped it up to 29-inch wheels. The Fuel EX 5 29 uses an Alpha aluminum frame and all the magic that puts Trek at the head of the pack. Things like the E2 head tube, and Full Floater and ABP rear suspension technologies make for a ride that obliterates the line between a hard-charging trail bike and nimble XC bike. The front and rear RockShox suspension is responsive, plush, and handles bumps way above its 120mm for that bottomless feeling without compromising a thing. Plus, SRAM 2x10 gearing, Shimano discs, and the Bontrager wheels and components just add to overdrive magic.
