Take the hole shot with KHS’s CX 300. Its ultra-light A7 aluminum frame keeps your power heading to the rear wheel for swift acceleration while the full-carbon CX fork keeps your front end knifing through the crud when the ruts start to freeze up. The tough, Weinmann XC-180 rims stand up to crooked bunny hops and choppy corners, which pose little problem thanks to the tenacious Maxxis Mud Wrestler tires. And, forget about the pits, because Shimano’s 105 2 x 11-speed drivetrain doesn’t quit when the mud turns to peanut butter. Throw in a set of hydraulic Shimano disc brakes, and you have a rig that not only stands up to punishment, but dishes it right back to the course as you blaze laps to keep the crowd warm.
