Overview

About this bike

When making the 596, Look considered 3 main things: stiffness for efficiency, comfort for fatigue reduction, and aerodynamics for speed. Stiffness and comfort were achieved with a very specific carbon lay-up and a unique 3-monobloc frame design with an integrated seatmast that's rigid laterally and compliant vertically. And, for top aerodynamics every tube is positioned to optimize the airflow of both the rider and the bike in motion. The carbon front end acts like a fairing, channeling air away from you. There's a gap between the seat tube and the wheel which is a break from the norm. Look's wind-tunnel testing shows that this gap leads to better airflow while the wheel is spinning. Included is Look's Zed carbon crankset with an oversize bottom bracket that has an extremely high stiffness-to-weight ratio that you'll feel the benefits of right away. And the adjustable carbon stem lets you dial in your position while keeping the front end aerodynamic for even more time savings.
