Few things match the durability, efficiency and value of aluminum. The Othello from Opus is the embodiment of all 3, its frame has that get up and go that riders love. Then, for the added benefit of long-ride comfort, you get a vibration-damping carbon seat post and fork that just happens to steer you quickly and precisely, too. The specs were chosen for the same function-to-value criteria: Shimano wheels with Vittoria tires and 20-speed Shimano Tiagra gearing. The cranks are from FSA, and they're compact, so spinning up the steepest hills is no problem. This thing is loaded with strong dual-pivot brakes, a comfy Selle Italia saddle and even clipless pedals, too.
