Fairfax E ST
Our critically acclaimed and best-selling Fairfax has gone electric. The all-new Fairfax E brings the power to scoot you along with 40Nm of torque from the rear hub, quietly and seamlessly adding a boost to your pedaling. The 340Wh battery is cleanly integrated into the Series 2 aluminum frame's downtube, while a Shimano 8-speed Altus drivetrain provides plenty of gearing range. Finally, hydraulic disc brakes from Tektro allow for controlled and comfortable stopping power in all conditions.
Technology:
- Series 2 Frame
The Series 2 e-bike fitness frame features 6061 aluminum tubing with an internal battery and internal cable routing, forged dropouts with rack and fender mounts, and an integrated kickstand mount
- Electric Drivetrain
The Bafang rear hub motor provides 40Nm of torque in a compact and tidy package and delivers top assisted speeds of 20mph, 32km/h (North America), and 25km/h for the rest of the world. Five levels of assistance, accessed via a handlebar-mounted controller, means that riders can quickly dial in the level of assistance that best meets their needs and riding style. The controller also doubles as a display, showing speed, battery charge state, and assist level selected. The Bafang Go app supports real-time access to ride data, real-time access to human health data such as heartbeat and calorie data, and access to navigation steering and traffic tips.
- Internal Battery
The 340Wh in-tube battery is neatly integrated into the Fairfax E's downtube, protecting and giving the bike a sleeker look. The charging port is easily accessible, under a weather-resistant cover.
- Hydraulic disc Brakes
Hydraulic disc brakes provide smooth, controlled stopping in all conditions with minimal maintenance.
- Step Through Design
The Fairfax E ST features a step-through frame design with a lowered top tube for easier mounting and dismounting.
- Shimano Drivetrain
Shimano's stalwart Altus 8-speed drivetrain smoothly and reliably glides between the gearing.
URBAN WARRIOR
The Marin Larkspur has all the looks of an old-school step-through but with chunky tanwall tires, wide rims, powerful disk brakes and the option of a dropper seat post. Beneath those old-school looks is a super modern and Marin Bikes-made steel frame and plenty of today’s standards to keep it right up to date.
Why just roll to the deli or ride to work when you can take a detour down your favourite dirt track on the way? It's an adventure bike, it's a gravel bike, it's a mountain bike, it's a commuter bike... it's whatever you want it to be.
The Marin Larkspur 1 is built around a Series 2 butted CrMo step-through frame, a curved CrMo fork and 27.5” wheels. It has high volume 2.35” Vee Tire Co tires, a microSHIFT 10-speed drivetrain, Tektro hydraulic brakes and plenty of reliable Marin components to complete the package.
STEEL FRAME
- Larkspur models feature butted Series 2 frames with a mixte step thru design for easy mounting and dismounting, even with baskets and baby seats.
WIDE-RANGE 1X DRIVETRAINS
- Both Larkspur models are built around modern, wide-range drivetrains, 10-speed on the Larkspur 1 and 11-speed on the Larkspur 2. These drivetrains are stout and have all the gearing most anyone could use, without relying on sometimes-fussy front derailleurs. Clutch-type rear derailleurs and narrow-wide front chainrings keep the chain on track, all the time.
DISC BRAKES
- Hydraulic disc brakes provide smooth, controlled stopping in all conditions with minimal maintenance.

Series 4 Aluminum Frame
Alpine Trail E models are built upon our Series 4 aluminum frames, with detailed forgings, highly manipulated tubes, and full internal cable routing, giving the rider the highest-end alloy frame that Marin offers, compatible with modern coil or air shocks.
MultiTrac Suspension
The Alpine Trail E features the same great, proven MultiTrac suspension technology, but optimized for the Shimano STEPS system. With this combination, there is no need for platform or lockout levers, just get on and blast up the hills.
Mixed Wheel Sizes
29" front and 27.5"+ rear wheel sizes are the ideal combination for the Alpine Trail E—the larger front wheel easily rolls over most any trail obstacle and offers the best cornering traction, while the burly 27.5 x 2.8" rear setup adds playfulness and enhances acceleration and braking traction.
Dropper Post Optimized
The modern-day trail rider needs their saddle out of the way at times, while low-slung frames require longer length posts. On the Alpine Trail E, seat tube lengths have been minimized, so riders of all sizes can get the proper extension needed.
