Overview

About this bike

Niner took the already rowdy ROS 9 and fattened it up for your pleasure. It shrugs off abuse with a frame built out of the tough 4130 chromoly, and features Niner’s popular long-travel hardtail geometry that begs to carve and huck all the way home. It has the same unwavering 142 x 12mm through-axle dropouts out back with simple inserts for easy setup with both single speed and geared options. And, it clears 3.0-inch rubber, making the ROS 9 Plus versatile as a four-season ripper, extra-gnarly trail tamer, and all-around plaything. Niner built a chromoly fork for this beast that combines the benefits of a tapered steerer, a 15mm through-axle, and a relatively short axle-to-crown length. All these features mean you get a stable and predictable front end that climbs well, avoids rotor rub, and precisely carves out whatever line you choose. To make sure you can have your ROS 9 Plus just how you like it, Niner included all the same bells and whistles as on the standard ROS 9 frame, like internal dropper post routing, removable front and rear derailleur hangers, and integrated MRP bash guard mounts on the bottom bracket shell. Niner got down to brass tacks when putting together the spec for the ROS 9 Plus 2-Star build, dishing up a SRAM GX 1 x 11-speed drivetrain that gives you a nice, fat range of gears and a cleaner, lighter-weight setup that still has all the gears you need for the trail’s ups and downs. Speaking of down, when you’re giddy with speed you’ll be glad you have a set of powerful SRAM DB5 hydraulic disc brakes to slow your marginally-controlled self before you blow through the curve, the barbed wire, and into Old Man Brown’s lower pasture. The Stan's wheelset features Neo hubs and 52mm-wide Hugo rims that let the Vittoria Bamboloni tires spread out all over the trail for unnerving traction. Irreverently enjoy it all on the ROS 9 Plus 2-Star.
