You’re on the line—tense and waiting for the gun. Then, you’re off—and Kona’s Major Jake accelerates as fast as you can crank the pedals. The stiff, light carbon frame shoots to the front of the pack, just before you dive into the first off-camber corner. The tapered carbon fork holds your line and the stiff Stan’s Iron Cross wheels get you back up to speed so you can power towards that hill. A Shimano Ultegra drivetrain with CX-specific gearing responds instantly and effortlessly, powering you up that steep incline and letting you drop the hammer on the other side. TRP’s Spyre disc brakes provide incredibly smooth, powerful braking, so you can wait until the last second to slow down for that corner, or scrub just a little speed as you approach that loose, techie section. And, supple Clement tires are versatile for a variety of course conditions. Kona’s multi-purpose Major is fitted with hidden fender mounts and two bottle cage mounts, so it’ll do double duty as a commuter, winter training bike, or gravel grinder.
