The stiff, light carbon frame shoots to the front of the pack, just before you dive into the first off-camber corner. The tapered carbon fork holds your line and the stiff Stan’s Iron Cross wheels spin back up to speed so you can power up the first hill. A Shimano Ultegra/105 drivetrain with CX-specific gearing responds instantly and effortlessly, blasting you up that steep incline and letting you drop the hammer on the other side. Hayes disc brakes provide incredibly smooth, powerful braking, so you can wait until the last second to slow down for the next corner, then scrub just a little speed as you approach that loose, techie section. And as the bell rings signaling the last lap, the reliable Kona bar, stem, and post topped with WTB seat will see you across the line.
