Cannondale's Trigger Carbon 1 has a good identity crises. It has XC speed with all-mountain capability. The rear travel can change from 70 to 120mm on-the-fly with adjustable geometry to match. The handling is on the XC/Trail side, so it's quick and maneuverable, yet this thing is fully capable on gnarlier trails. This incredible rig makes it all happen with a BallisTec carbon frame and a 130mm carbon Lefty fork up front. XC twisty or all-mountain pinned, it doesn't matter with an XO/XTR 2x10 drivetrain, carbon bars and XTR Trail discs. The wheels charge just as hard: they're Reynolds carbon rims with carbon hubs, so they're shockingly light, yet seriously stiff and tough and wrapped with Schwalbe rubber, so don't baby them. The best therapy for this identity crises? Trail therapy!
