About this bike
The Ransom. 170mm of trail munchin', climb crushing, stage winning all day pinning mountain biking excellence. SCOTT designed this bike with speed at the forefront and went with a geometry that's long, slack, and stable when pointed downhill. And while the Ransom can tame any descent, it also offers a proper position for efficient climbing. The frame is a durable 6011 alloy with an adjustable bottom bracket height and uses trunnion box construction that increases rigidity where the rear shock mounts. Integrated guards on the downtube and inside the drive side rear triangle protect the frame from rock strikes and chain slap. When it comes to suspension, the Fox 36 Float Performance fork and Fox Nude T Evol rear shock deliver. Their 3 suspension modes with remote switch for simultaneous adjustment provide a new level of immediate control over rapidly changing terrain. A SRAM Eagle drivetrain with DUB bottom bracket offers a simpler, smoother, and longer-lasting setup. Shimano MT520 quad-piston brake calipers dish up a hefty serving of braking power. Syncros Revelstoke 2.5 wheels with boost spacing for increased wheel strength form an ideal footing for plus-sized tires, reducing tire flop and improving overall control. The Maxxis Minion 120TPI tires have EXO casing for reduced likelihood of sidewall cuts and are tubeless ready. The Ransom 720 comes with a Syncros dropper seatpost, as well as Syncros Hixon riser handlebars and stem with an integrated spacer and top cap that allows for a clean, easily adjustable setup.
